Conformity Assessment Services (referred to Quality Assurance):  are all actions taken to ensure that standards and procedures are adhered to and that specified products or services meet/conform to performance and other requirements. These actions include procedures such as monitoring, inspection, testing, certification, accreditation, monitoring and surveillance, and auditing as well as the handling of consumers’ complaints.

Conformity Assessment Services also carries out compliance or implementation activities to ensure that the quality of goods produced and or used complies with the relevant national standards.

 

As it pertains to Product Label Verification Timeline for Product Label Verification 

1.       Pre-packaged Foods made locally or imported (pepper sauces, Green seasoning, jams, wines, popsicles, coconut oil etc.)

2.       Pre-packaged Goods made locally or imported (soaps, candles, body oil, etc.)

3.       Brewery Products made locally or imported (Beers, Malts, Ales, Guinness, etc.). 

 The verification process begins when a product label sample is emailed or submitted to the SVGBS office. The label will be assessed using the National Standard which best applies to the product. The assessment seeks to ensure that all required information is on the label. 

 

Label verification costs EC $5.00 per product label.

 

Timeline for Product Label Verification 

 

Three (3) working days. (Reviewing of labels for compliance, accuracy and identifying any non-conformances) 

A detailed assessment report will be issued identifying any non-conformities on the ending of the third day.

Shared expertise  & technical assistance will be provided.
